A luxation can further be defined by the position of the lens at the time of diagnosis. An anterior luxation exists when the lens is located in front of the iris, and a posterior luxation exists when the lens is displaced towards the retina at the back of the eye. A subluxation is defined as a minor displacement (\u201cloosening\u201d) of the lens without complete loss of anatomical orientation. global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #00afdc;\">Quels sont les traitements possibles d\u2019une luxation du cristallin?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Les traitements varient selon la cause de l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 du cristallin. Si la luxation est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme primaire (h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire comme chez les terriers), le traitement vise \u00e0 contr\u00f4ler les changements secondaires \u00e0 la luxation si ceux-ci sont pr\u00e9sents. \u2028Pour les yeux qui sont visuels, le traitement recommand\u00e9 est de retirer chirurgicalement le cristallin lux\u00e9. Si le cristallin lux\u00e9 n\u2019est pas chirurgicalement retir\u00e9, les changements qui d\u00e9coulent de cette dislocation engendrent une perte de la vision. Cette perte de la vision peut \u00eatre caus\u00e9e par la formation de la cataracte (le cristallin qui s\u2019opacifie), le glaucome (augmentation de la pression intra-oculaire), un d\u00e9collement de la r\u00e9tine, etc. Par le retrait chirurgical du cristallin lux\u00e9, l\u2019animal \u00e0 de grandes chances de garder la vue pour longtemps malgr\u00e9 les risques inh\u00e9rents \u00e0 la chirurgie. En effet nous savons que si l\u2019\u0153il est laiss\u00e9 non trait\u00e9, il en r\u00e9sulte in\u00e9vitablement une c\u00e9cit\u00e9 rendant l\u2019intervention chirurgicale incontournable.<\/p>\n<p>Le traitement m\u00e9dical pour les cristallins sub-lux\u00e9s d\u2019origine h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire est une option possible dans certains cas et de mani\u00e8re temporaire. Il s\u2019agit des patients sans signes secondaires de la sub-luxation,\u00a0 des animaux qui ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 perdu la vue de cet \u0153il et des patients dont le propri\u00e9taire ne peut financi\u00e8rement envisager une intervention chirurgicale.
